Most likely, when you call us for service on your air conditioner, you’ll tell us “it’s not blowing cold air.”

An interesting fact: Air conditioners NEVER blow cold air. So that begs the question, how does your air conditioner really work?

Cooling your home is done by properly functioning airflow and refrigerants. Your air conditioner is actually absorbing the heat from your home and pushing it outside. When your unit blows air into your home, it is devoid of heat. This occurs within the refrigerant cycle.

Science of the refrigerant cycle:

Freon comes in as a liquid, transfers to a gas in the evaporator coil located in the furnace, then exits as vapor back outside of your home.

Why air conditioner maintenance matters:

With so many moving parts, freon levels, and air flow issues that can pop up, routine maintenance can extend the life of your HVAC unit.

At A&D Mechanical Services, we like to think of ourselves as your HVAC’s wellness doctor. We make sure you know the science behind the working components of your unit and not just think of it as a big chunk of metal pieces.

Just like healing yourself, sometimes there can be a more complex reason why something in your air conditioner isn’t working. We don’t just want to band aid that reason and through parts at it, we want the issue resolved. Our goal is to have your air conditioning system working its best all summer long and not leaving you sweltering in the southwest Missouri heat and humidity.

Call us today to schedule your spring clean and check appointment on your air conditioner unit, because you know maintenance matters.
